I am Debsuddha, a freelance photojournalist based in Kolkata, India. I love to capture people’s life. Apart from covering news I am mostly interested on documentary photography and have completed some stories like Nepal earthquake of 2015, Earthquake at Manipur on 2016, continuous drought of western Maharashtra, flood in West Bengal, gender inequality issue in passenger trains of West Bengal. Rohingya refugee issue in Bangladesh is my on going project. At present working on climate change issue, the greatest threat of the decade. I do believe documentary photography possess the more power to express lot of things rather than word through its visual potential.

According to me photojournalism is that field where I can apply my skill competently in a challenging way with the dynamic environment and use energy immensely and honestly. At present I do work for  ZUMA Press, USA and Pacific press agency, Philippines.

I have done workshop on photojournalism and visual story telling conducted by Altaf Qadri, Associated Press profile photojournalist, New Delhi, India and another workshop conducted by Abir Abdullah, photojournalist of EPA, Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Two of my work, Nepal aftermath’15 and Battle of sex have exhibited by Guizhou photo festival an Du jun photo festival of China on 2016.
